An example to the ladies !
A certain wife was asked:
"Why
does your husband loves you?
He sees no one in existence but you?
Yet there are those, prettier than you?"
Then she said:
"I am not the prettiest.
And I am not the ultimate.
But I am such that when my husband hurts me, I forgive.
And when he comes worried, I listen.
And when he gives me a lot, I praise.
And when he gives me little, I reason.
Such has my Lord taught me.
Friendliness, I won't stop...
Obedience, I won't refuse...
And whenever I harvest a thorn, I plant a rose."
Who's more ultimate than this wife? Isn't she an
example to the ladies?
Listen to Understand!
A teacher teaching Math’s to seven-year-old Kazim
asked him, “If I give you one apple and one apple and one apple, how many
apples will you have?” Within a few seconds Kazim replied confidently, “Four!”
The dismayed teacher was expecting an effortless correct answer (three). She
was disappointed. “Maybe the child did not listen properly,” she thought. She
repeated, “Kazim, listen carefully. If I give you one apple and one apple and
one apple, how many apples will you have?”
Kazim had seen the disappointment on his teacher’s face. He calculated again on
his fingers. But within him he was also searching for the answer that will make
the teacher happy. His search for the answer was not for the correct one, but
the one that will make his teacher happy. This time hesitatingly he replied,
“Four…”
The disappointment stayed on the teacher’s face. She remembered that Kazim
liked strawberries. She thought maybe he doesn’t like apples and that is making
him loose focus. This time with an exaggerated excitement and twinkling in her
eyes she asked, “If I give you one strawberry and one strawberry and one
strawberry, then how many you will have?”
Seeing the teacher happy, young Kazim calculated on his fingers again. There
was no pressure on him, but a little on the teacher. She wanted her new
approach to succeed. With a hesitating smile young Kazim enquired, “Three?”
The teacher now had a victorious smile. Her approach had succeeded. She wanted
to congratulate herself. But one last thing remained. Once again she asked him,
“Now if I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple how many will you
have?”
Promptly Kazim answered, “Four!”
The teacher was aghast. “How Kazim, how?” she demanded in a little stern and
irritated voice.
In a voice that was low and hesitating young Kazim replied, “Because I already
have one apple in my bag.”
Moral of the Story:
“When someone gives you an answer that is different from what you expect don’t
think they are wrong. There may be an angle that you have not understood at
all. You will have to listen and understand, but never listen with a
predetermined notion.”
CONVERSATION BETWEEN
MOTHER AND SON
Mother:
I fought with death when I was giving you birth.
I spent sleepless nights when you were sick and crying during late nights.
I bore unspoken pains while breast feeding you.
I never took meals without feeding you.
I bore so many pains to bring you to this stage what you are in today.
How will you pay me back my son?
Son:
When I grow up, I will find a good job and get money for you so you can enjoy
the pleasures of this world.
Mother:
Your father is doing this already and I do not expect this from you too.
Son:
I will find a pious lady and marry her so she can take care of you while I am
away from home.
Mother:
It is not compulsory on her to do any service to me neither I expect from her.
Son:
Tell me mother how can I repay you back.
Mother:
With tears in her eyes, when I die give me shoulder and bury me. When ever you
perform prayers, supplicate for me.
Remember your good deeds will benefit me in hereafter life. Will you do it my
son?
Son:
He got tears in his eyes already.
What about you?
"A mother is the Superior soul in one's life...
A mother is one of the strongest doors of Paradise, if you wish you may pull it
down, or if you wish you may protect it." [Tirmidhi].
May Allah (SWT) continue to bless our mother and give hidayah in our hearts to
Obey her and love her to the core and protect her. Amin
